Graduate Students

If you are interested in joining the PADlab for graduate studies, you can apply through the Department of Psychology for the Clinical Ph.D. program (for more information, visit Northwestern’s Department of Psychology website). We cover a broad range of personality and behavior topics in the lab, so if you are interested in personality, temperament, externalizing disorders, self-regulation, emotional regulation, personality disorders, or the development of any of these, the lab may be a good fit for you. Students with interest or background in advanced statistical applications and rigorous approaches to psychological measurement are particularly encouraged to apply.

Post-Docs

If you are a graduate student seeking a postdoctoral position and have overlapping research interests with ongoing work in the PADlab, please email tackettlab2@gmail.com. Many opportunities exist for postdoctoral research with two large datasets (each include more than 400 families) of archival information including multiple measures of personality, emotion, temperament, life events, relationships, and psychopathology. One of these datasets currently has 3 waves of longitudinal data. Opportunities also exist for postdoctoral fellows to gain additional experience with advanced statistics and various methodologies, including clinical interviewing, psychophysiological, psychoneuroendocrinological, neuroimaging, and behavior and molecular genetics applications.
